A lot has happened in the time since I last posted here and it would take way to much time and space to fill you in on everything that we have done in the many months since I last posted.
We have made an offer on a house in Idaho and will hopefully be moving soon. We will be calling our new place WilderWolf.
Tiffany made a new blog dedicated to it and you can find it here. I will be posting at least once a week there about the improvements that we make to WilderWolf and ideas that we have for the new house and homestead. These will be general posts, with pictures of the planning process and where on WilderWolf we are putting things. They will not be technical posts about the construction and the nuts and bolts of the project. The details of construction will be posted here on The Umbafa Chronicles.
I will be doing a lot of research on the improvements that we want to make, and posting the results here with pictures and links to future projects. They will be posted here because I do not want to clog the WilderWolf site with a bunch of technical information.

This has been a busy week for both of us.
Tiffany set up her design business, Tiffany Rockwell Designs. She did such a good job, and already it is starting to pay off for her. She wants to be able to work from wherever we end up moving to, and this will help her to do that.
We are both trying to pay better attention to our blogs than we have in the past, as well as following and supporting our friends blogs. Tiff is so much better at blogging than I am, but I am hoping that some of her coolness rubs off on me.
I have 184 blog feeds in my rss feeder, that I read everyday. I will be cross posting occasionally some of the more interesting or useful things that I come across in my readings. There are a lot of really good blogs out there and every once in a while I find some really useful things that i will share with you here.
I just started reading Crush It, by Gary Vaynerchuk. This guy is awesome, he says it like it is. I will post a review when I am finished reading it. I am enjoying it so much that Tiff and I are going to go hear him speak later this month.

I am going to try and make new blog posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
I am going to make a regular post on Monday called “What did you do this week to prep?” This will allow me to post what we did including the weekends. I would really like to hear what you did during that week also, so please leave a comment on what you accomplished.
Wednesdays and Fridays posts will have something to do with either survival, or preparedness. I have lots of ideas, but little time to put things together. I am going to devote more time to this blog.
Blog Changes:
There will be some major changes coming to The Umbafa Chronicles. One thing is that I need to change the theme. I love the theme when I am at my computer, but it is hard to read when using my Galaxy Tab, or my phone. With more and more people using tablets and smart phones lately, I want to find a theme that is easy on the eyes in all platforms.
I have a lot of friends who are blogging more often, and I am going to put links to their blogs on here. I know that you will find some interesting stuff to read and learn a lot from them.
If you are seeing this on Facebook, please go to my blog and subscribe.

It has been over 6 months since I have updated this blog and that is not acceptable. I really do not have a good reason for it at all. I will try and do better this coming year.
Here is a short update of what we have been up to since June.
1) Tiffany brought home a kitten, we named him Lucious. He is a tiger cat, half Bengal, and is a complete Monster. He fit right in to our hearts and home. He and Hannah get along great and he thinks that Hannah is his mom.
2) We drove back to Tennessee for Operation TriGoatWell. Was about a 5800 mile drive and we absolutely loved it. The trip was very fun and the meet up was the best time I have ever had. On the way we stopped at the Shiloh Civil War park, and after the meet up drove to Manassas, and Gettysburg. We fell in love with Tennessee, and most likely will be moving there when we leave California.
3) Tiffany is now the Associate Editor and the Design and Layout person of Survival Quarterly magazine. She loves working for Ron Hood, and they just sent the fourth issue to the printers.
4) The Gear Shop is doing well, we have put some new products in the line up and are researching a lot more to add in 2011. Jack Spirko has been great to work with and we have built some good relationships with some of our suppliers.
5) I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and had a hell of a time getting used to the Metformin that they put me on for it. It has been about 2 months and things are started to get adjusted, and I am feeling much better. I have lost around 20 pounds so far.
6) Our work on the forums is going well, we have made some very good friends and have been meeting and shooting monthly with some like minded people. We have another TSP Mod meet up in Tennessee planned for September 2011, this one being called “Shame and Chicken”.
There is probably a ton of things that I have missed, and each of these things that I listed really deserve their own post.
I will do better in updating things in 2011.
